University of Kansas Health System – St. Francis Campus (Topeka, KS) is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage starting January 1, 2026. Position Overview

Setting: Inpatient + Outpatient (both required)

Commitment: 1 week per month (ongoing)

Call:

Weekdays: 5pm–7am

Weekends & Holidays: 24-hour call

Night and weekend call required

30-minute in-person response

5–10 minute phone response

Open to Licensing: Yes — candidates without a KS license are welcome to apply

Premium Rates: Client is open to premium/market-leading compensation

Privileges Required: Inpatient + outpatient, admissions

Practice Setting: Epic EMR, 387-bed hospital
Clinical Scope
You will:
-
Provide inpatient rounding, consults & weekend/holiday hospital coverage

See patients in the Heart & Vascular Center office (Mon–Fri, 8a–5p as needed)

Participate in general cardiology call (beeper)

Expect ~10 patients per shift

Work alongside dedicated RNs, MAs, and APP support staff (no supervision required)
Required Skills
-
Board Certified in Cardiology
-
ACLS/BLS
-
Comfortable with both outpatient and inpatient Cardiology

Admissions + phone consults + call-back patient care
