Opportunity Overview
A well-established community hospital in Southern Illinois is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General / Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join its growing cardiology service line.
This employed, hospital-based opportunity offers a balanced inpatient and outpatient cardiology practice, a collegial clinical environment, established hospital support, and a manageable call schedule.
The position is well suited for a cardiologist seeking long-term stability, clinical autonomy, strong administrative support, and a community-focused practice environment.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Perform cardiology consultations and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Manage cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based clinical practices.
Collaborate with hospitalists, primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in the cardiology service's call schedule.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Support continuity of care and effective communication with referring providers.
Contribute to the continued growth of the cardiology service line.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology.
Eligible for or able to obtain an Illinois medical license.
Strong clinical judgment and patient-centered approach.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
2–3+ years of cardiology experience preferred/required per application screening.
Working Hours
Full-time schedule.
Hospital-based practice with a balanced inpatient/outpatient workload.
Manageable cardiology call schedule.
Primarily in-person clinical practice.
