We are seeking an experienced General Cardiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Lewisburg, PA. This position provides a combination of outpatient clinic, cardiology procedures, hospital coverage, and call responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in non-invasive cardiology, including nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. CT imaging experience is a plus but is not required.
The provider will work with a supportive cardiology team and will manage an adult patient population in both clinic and hospital settings.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage inpatient and outpatient cardiology patients.
Perform cardiology consultations and hospital rounding.
Interpret nuclear cardiology studies.
Interpret and perform echocardiography-related services.
Perform and interpret stress testing.
Perform TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography).
Perform cardioversions as clinically appropriate.
Manage cardiac monitoring and related diagnostic testing.
Participate in night and weekend call coverage.
Collaborate with APPs, interventional cardiologists, and other members of the cardiology team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
Nuclear Board Certification – Required
Echo Board Certification – Required
Active Pennsylvania medical license required
IMLC accepted
DEA required
Minimum 1 year of cardiology experience
Current clinical experience representative of the requested privileges
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Working Hours
Monday–Friday
Combination of clinic, procedures, and hospital coverage
Night call: Approximately 1–2 nights per week
Weekend call: Approximately 1:4–1:5
Call includes hospital rounding; callback volume is generally low
The client prefers a provider who can cover all listed dates, although 1–2 weeks of RTO may be considered.
