Locum Tenens | October Start
WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board Certified Non-Invasive Cardiologist for a locum tenens opportunity beginning October 1. This assignment provides inpatient cardiology coverage with a collaborative team and the opportunity for ongoing work, including potential full-time coverage for 3–6 months.
Assignment Highlights
- Start Date: October 1, 2026
- Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
- Initial Need: Approximately 6 weeks (October 1 – November 15)
- Potential Extension: Full-time coverage for 3–6 months
- Minimum Commitment: One week per month, including one weekend
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Call: One weekend per month and 1–2 nights per week
- Setting: Primarily Inpatient (Outpatient coverage may be added if practice needs expand)
- Patient Volume: Approximately 8–15 patient encounters per day
- Credentialing: Standard credentialing process
This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys practicing inpatient non-invasive cardiology while working within a growing and collaborative cardiology program. The team is seeking a flexible physician with strong communication skills who is interested in mentoring Advanced Practice Clinicians as new team members are onboarded.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Inpatient non-invasive cardiology consults and management
- Perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs)
- Participate in weekday and weekend call coverage
- Round on hospitalized cardiology patients
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to newly hired APCs
Support Staff
- One location is supported by 2–3 Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Additional APC support is actively being recruited for another practice location
Qualifications
- Board Certified in Cardiology
- Active Delaware medical license or IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) accepted
- Active DEA
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Comfortable performing TEEs
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
