Job description
We are seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologists with a strong academic background and expertise in echocardiographic imaging to join a prestigious teaching hospital in California. This Level 1 Trauma Center handles high-acuity and emergent echocardiography cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The position is primarily focused on Echo services (TTE & TEE), with optional inpatient rounding available for those with an academic medicine background.
Job Responsibilities
Perform and interpret 25–30 echos/day (TTE, TEE)
Support staff: in echo, there’s a team of echo techs, always an inpatient attending for cardiology available via phone, always an interventional cardiologist on call
Patient population/age: all adult
Department description:
Level 1 trauma center
Does inpatient and outpatient echos
Does emergent and high acuity echos
Teaching hospital
Use Epic EMR system
Qualifications
• License required: Yes, CA license required
• DEA: Yes, CA DEA with Schedule 2 required
• Certifications preferred: Advanced Echocardiography Level III certification
• Certifications required: BLS
• Minimum experience required:
Must have recent experience reading high volume of echos
Teaching experience STRONGLY preferred
Willing to consider new grads
Experience working with diverse populations strongly preferred
Working Hours
Start Date: ASAP – Emergency privileges available if no active malpractice (approx. 30-day credentialing)
Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend
Schedule:
Coverage Needed: 2 weeks per month
Shift Structure: 5x8s, Monday–Friday
Skills
Bilingual is a plus
