Locums | Interventional Cardiology | Mechanicsville, VA (VA license required) Why This Role

  • Holiday coverage block, December 18-January 1
  • Emergency or temporary privileges available
  • Established Interventional Cardiology team onsite
  • Relatively low STEMI callback volume
  • Flight, hotel, and rental car reimbursed
Assignment Details Start/end: December 18, 7a - January 1, 5p Schedule: Monday-Friday onsite, 7a-5p; weekday overnight call, 5p-7a; weekend call, Saturday 7a-Monday 7a Coverage type: Inpatient + STEMI Call Call: Beeper/after-hours coverage; call rotation to be confirmed Volume: Approximately 2 inpatient admissions per physician/day; potential rounding responsibilities Call volume: 159 STEMI activations in 2025, with approximately 47% canceled Setting: Adult and geriatric inpatient Cardiology; 250-bed hospital with 30 ICU beds Support: Other Interventional Cardiologists onsite; no provider supervision required EMR: Epic Credentialing: Emergency or temporary privileges available Clinical Details Interventional Cardiology and STEMI coverage Coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization Balloon angioplasty and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) Atherectomy Embolic protection procedures Carotid artery stenting Medical management of vascular disease Inpatient Cardiology consultations and potential rounding Unassigned and noninvasive Cardiology call coverage Adult and geriatric patient population Requirements Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology License: Active VA medical license required ACLS and BLS required Active DEA Clean malpractice history required Proficiency in coronary interventions and emergency STEMI management Must be available for the entire requested coverage block Compensation Rate caps apply per facility Malpractice provided Travel and lodging reimbursed, including flight, hotel, and rental car
