Interventional Cardiologist – Locum Tenens – Mechanicsville, VA

We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a locum tenens assignment at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia, near Richmond.

This opportunity includes weekday onsite coverage, overnight and weekend call, and potential inpatient rounding responsibilities.

Assignment Details

• Location: Mechanicsville, Virginia

• Facility: Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center

• Specialty: Interventional Cardiology

• Coverage Dates: December 18, 2026, at 7:00 AM through January 1, 2027, at 5:00 PM

• Setting: Inpatient and call

• EMR: Epic

• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

• Additional Interventional Cardiologists: Available onsite

• Credentialing: Emergency or temporary privileges available

Schedule

• Weekday Onsite Coverage: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Weekday Call: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–7:00 AM

• Weekend Call: Saturday, 7:00 AM–Monday, 7:00 AM

Call includes STEMI coverage, with potential rounding responsibilities. Physicians can expect more telephone consultations than emergent callbacks.

Required Procedures

• Coronary angiography and heart catheterization

• Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)

• Balloon and coronary angioplasty

• Atherectomy

• Carotid artery stenting

• Embolic protection

• Medical management of vascular disease

Requirements

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology

• Active Virginia medical license

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Clean malpractice history

• Must be available for the entire December 18–January 1 coverage period

Travel and Expenses

Flight, hotel, and rental car expenses are reimbursed by the facility.
