Our client, a leading academic teaching hospital committed to advancing cardiovascular care and education, is hiring a Senior Interventional Cardiologist. This prominent institution seeks a highly skilled Interventional Cardiologist to join its expanding team dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient cardiac interventions and contributing to medical education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive interventional cardiology services, engaging in multidisciplinary collaboration, and nurturing the next generation of physicians through teaching and scholarly activities. The position offers a unique opportunity to practice cutting-edge interventional techniques within a vibrant, academic environment, while participating in innovative research and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inpatient consultative and procedural interventional cardiology services, including diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterizations.
  • Manage complex cardiovascular conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, STEMI, NSTEMI, and cardiogenic shock.
  • Lead coronary interventions, including PCI procedures, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and evidence-based practices.
  • Interpret cardiac imaging, hemodynamic data, and other diagnostic studies to guide treatment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, hospitalists, intensivists, and emergency medicine physicians, to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, case reviews, and departmental meetings to promote high-quality care.
  • Provide emergency interventional cardiology coverage within a shared call rotation, responding promptly to urgent cardiovascular cases.
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows through clinical instruction and curriculum development.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities, including clinical research, quality improvement projects, and departmental initiatives.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Cardiology fellowship and Interventional Cardiology fellowship.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in interventional cardiology; candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Board certification or eligibility in both Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in NY state and DEA registration.
  • Strong procedural skills in cardiac catheterization, PCI, and related interventions.
  • Prior experience with teaching or mentoring medical trainees is advantageous.
  • Willingness to participate in call rotation and academic activities.
