###Locums | Interventional Cardiology | Fort Smith, AR (Active AR License Required) ###Why This Role

  • Limited commitment of five weekdays per month
  • Ongoing coverage currently authorized through February 2027
  • In-house STEMI and Interventional Cardiology coverage
  • Expedited credentialing may be possible for a clean candidate
  • Epic EMR ###
Assignment Details Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing; currently authorized through February 2027 Commitment: Five days per month, Monday–Friday Coverage Type: 24-hour in-house call Setting: Inpatient Call Scope: Interventional Cardiology and STEMI coverage Average 24-Hour Call Volume: Approximately 20–25 encounters Patients Seen: Approximately 15–20 Response Time: - Routine in-house requests: Within one hour - Emergency/STEMI: Within 30 minutes Admissions: Managed by the hospitalist service except STEMI-related admissions Patient Callbacks: None EMR: Epic Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days; expedited processing may be possible Temporary Privileges: Unavailable Nearest Airports: Fort Smith Regional Airport and Northwest Arkansas National Airport Lodging Recommendation: Homewood Suites ###Requirements Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology Active Arkansas medical license required at presentation Current ACLS, ATLS, and BLS Clean malpractice history and NPDB required Current STEMI and cardiac catheterization experience Availability for five consecutive weekdays per month Ability to respond to STEMI emergencies within 30 minutes ###Clinical Details Provide 24-hour in-house Interventional Cardiology coverage Respond to STEMI activations and urgent cardiac consultations Evaluate approximately 15–20 patients during a call period Manage STEMI-related admissions when required Collaborate with seven RNs, six APPs, seven MAs, and three office staff No patient callbacks, APP supervision, resident supervision, or teaching responsibilities
