Interventional Cardiology Call Coverage in Southeast Iowa

A community hospital in West Burlington, Iowa is looking for an interventional cardiologist to provide call coverage across a broad mix of cardiac care. The role offers meaningful clinical volume without the scale and congestion of a major metro center, with access to the Mississippi River, established local restaurants, parks, trails, historic neighborhoods, and outdoor recreation nearby. The greater Burlington area is known for riverfront walks, wooded trails, bluff views, boating, fishing, and easy access to downtown amenities.

This is a strong fit for a cardiologist who wants to step into a well-rounded service line, handle both interventional and general cardiology needs, and spend time in a smaller market where their work directly supports the surrounding community.

Schedule

• Call coverage only: September 5–8 and September 24–28

• Weekday call: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

• Weekend call: Friday at 8:00 a.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.

• Call rotates with other providers

• Additional coverage of 3–4 weeks per month available beginning in October

Expected volume

• Clinic: 12–15 patients per day

• Inpatient rounding and consults: 5–10 patients per day

• Weekday callback varies

• Interventional callback may total approximately 4–6 hours

• Some days include coverage of general cardiology call

Clinical scope

• Diagnostic cardiac catheterization

• Angioplasty and stenting

• Stress echocardiography

• Nuclear stress testing

• Echocardiogram interpretation

• Holter and event monitor interpretation

• TEE

• Cardioversion
