Job description
Locum Interventional Cardiologist (MD/DO) opportunity in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This assignment offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient cardiovascular care, perform advanced interventional procedures, and participate in STEMI call coverage at a well-established acute care hospital.
Job Responsibilities
Perform cardiac catheterizations (diagnostic and interventional).
Perform and interpret Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE).
Interpret echocardiograms and nuclear cardiac studies.
Participate in STEMI call coverage, including weeknight and weekend call.
Manage acute cardiovascular emergencies and interventional procedures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
Active Pennsylvania Medical License or IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand.
DEA Registration required.
Experience with cardiac catheterization, TEE, echocardiography, and interventional cardiology procedures.
Ability to obtain hospital privileges (temporary privileges available for qualified candidates with a clean file).
Working Hours
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Coverage: Hospital consults, procedures, and call coverage
Call: Weeknight beeper call (4:00 PM–7:00 AM) and 24-hour weekend STEMI call
Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Skills
Proficiency in cardiac catheterization, TEE, echo interpretation, and nuclear cardiac testing.
Strong experience managing acute coronary syndromes and STEMI cases.
Excellent inpatient consultation and procedural skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Epic EMR.
