Locum Tenens | September Start
WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity beginning in September. This assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with STEMI call coverage at a well-supported community hospital, making it an excellent opportunity for physicians seeking a long-term assignment.
Assignment Highlights
- Start Date: September 2026
- Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
- Commitment: Ongoing assignment (3–6 months)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Call: STEMI call Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–7:00 AM; Weekend call 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Approximately 3 weekends of call per month
- Setting: Inpatient
- Hospital Size: 74-bed community hospital
- EMR: Epic
- Credentialing: Standard credentialing process
This position includes a blend of inpatient interventional cardiology coverage and STEMI call responsibilities. Physicians will provide inpatient consults and perform a variety of interventional procedures while working alongside an experienced clinical team.
Daily responsibilities include approximately 15 inpatient consults and 3 procedures per day. The procedural scope includes:
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Echocardiogram interpretations
- Cardiac window procedures
Call coverage includes both in-house and hotel-based responsibilities, depending on the schedule. Physicians should be comfortable managing STEMI call and responding to emergent cardiac cases as needed.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology
- Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- Active DEA required
- Experience with interventional cardiology procedures and STEMI call coverage
- Epic EMR experience preferred
