Job description We’re seeking a Locum Tenens Interventional Cardiologist (MD/DO) for an inpatient hospital setting in Medford, Oregon. This is ongoing gap coverage designed for two providers to support reliable coverage. The role is interventional-focused with weekday onsite coverage plus beeper call coverage on nights and weekends. EMR: Epic.
Target start date: September 1, 2026 (credentialing timeline noted below; no temporary privileges).

Job Responsibilities

• Provide Interventional Cardiology coverage for inpatient hospital needs.
• Maintain onsite daytime presence on scheduled weekdays.
• Provide weeknight beeper call coverage and respond within 20–30 minutes when activated.
• Provide 24-hour weekend beeper call coverage as scheduled.
• Manage patient care needs within the service line and provide phone consult support while on call.
• Collaborate with the care team (RNs, MAs, APPs, support staff) to ensure smooth inpatient workflow.

Qualifications

• MD/DO (Interventional Cardiology)
• Board Certified (BC only)
• Active Oregon medical license
• DEA required
• BLS and ACLS (current)
• Comfortable with inpatient hospital workflow and beeper call coverage
• Able to support ongoing monthly coverage (minimum commitment below)
• No temporary privileges available (must complete credentialing)
• Credentialing estimate: ~90 days; current CV required for submission

Working Hours

• Start Date: 09/01/2026
• Assignment Length: Ongoing
• Coverage Type: Inpatient
• Weekday coverage: Onsite: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Beeper call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (overnight)
• Weekend coverage: 24-hour beeper call coverage
• Minimum shifts: 7 shifts per month
• Guaranteed hours: 8 hours/day

Skills

• Interventional cardiology clinical decision-making in an inpatient environment
• Strong responsiveness and time-sensitive call management (20–30 min response expectation)
• Clear communication with nursing and interdisciplinary teams
• Efficient, compliant documentation in Epic
• Comfort handling consults and escalations during call coverage
