Interventional Cardiologist (MD/DO)
Sky Lakes Medical Center | Klamath Falls, Oregon
$590,000 Guaranteed Base | Up to $858,000 Potential | 4-Day Clinical Week + 1 Admin Day | $100K Sign-On
If you are an established, confident interventionalist looking for high clinical autonomy, exceptional earning potential, and a practice environment where your procedural judgment isn't second-guessed by corporate metrics, this opportunity was built for you.
Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join a seasoned, collaborative cardiology team of three Interventional Cardiologists and one General Cardiologist. Practicing as the primary cardiovascular anchor for over 80,000 residents across Southern Oregon and Northern California, you will step into a turnkey, newly renovated Cath Lab with a protected 40-hour work week, outstanding compensation stability, and a deeply rewarding community mission.
The Practice: Balanced Schedule, Procedural Freedom & Modern Tech
-
The "4+1" Lifestyle Schedule (40-Hour Work Week): Experience true work-life balance built for career longevity. Enjoy a structured Monday–Friday, 40-hour schedule featuring 4 days dedicated to clinic and/or cath lab procedures and 1 fully protected administrative day each week. Zero "pajama-time" charting on weekends—your admin day keeps documentation, peer reviews, and inbox management contained strictly within work hours.
-
Newly Renovated Cath Lab: Perform diagnostics and interventions in a modern, completely updated Cath Lab equipped with state-of-the-art cardiovascular imaging and technology.
-
Focused Interventional Scope (No Structural Burden): Sky Lakes does not operate a structural heart program (no TAVR, MitraClip, or complex structural procedures). This creates a clean, streamlined procedural focus centered strictly on high-yield coronary interventional cases and general inpatient/outpatient management.
-
Established 24/7 CT Surgery Phone Backup & Regional Transfer Network: We do not maintain on-site cardiothoracic surgery. Instead, our interventionalists operate with full clinical confidence supported by 24/7 direct telephone consultation with a regional Cardiothoracic Surgery team, alongside a seamless, well-established transfer network to our regional partner in Medford, OR. While this model can intimidate early-career fellows, it is an ideal, high-autonomy fit for an experienced operator with mature case-selection judgment.
-
Robotic Technology Openness: We do not currently have vascular robotics on-site; however, hospital executive leadership is fully open to investing in robotic procedural platforms for the right candidate seeking to build or expand their procedural scope.
-
Procedural Mix: Broad-spectrum coronary interventional care and outpatient cardiology. Device/pacemaker implantation ability is welcome and a definite plus, though not required. CT surgery and complex EP ablations are coordinated off-site.
Transparent Compensation & Premier Financial Package
We provide a transparent, top-tier compensation model offering rock-solid downside security with explosive upside potential:
| Compensation Component | Earning Potential | Structure & Details |
| Guaranteed Base Salary | $590,000 |
Guaranteed base earnings paid in regular bi-weekly installments. |

Relocation Assistance: Comprehensive relocation package and moving allowance to Southern Oregon.
-
CME Allowance: Dedicated annual CME funding and paid time off to stay at the leading edge of cardiovascular care.
-
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF): As an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) hospital, full-time physicians qualify for federal PSLF.
-
Candidate Profile & Visa Support: While ideally suited for a seasoned mid-to-late career interventionalist seeking autonomy and peak earning years, we are also open to confident 2027 and 2028 fellowship graduates possessing exceptional procedural acumen. Comprehensive J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorships are fully supported.
