Interventional Cardiology in MS

30 minutes to MS State
60 miles to U of AL – Tuscaloosa
90 minutes to Ole Miss
90 minutes to Birmingham
2 ½ hours to Memphis & Jackson
Airport with direct jet service to Atlanta
ACGME Internal Medicine Residency program

Join a Hospital employed multispecialty group.

  • 3 Interventional Cardiologists, 1 Invasive, 1 Non-Invasive and a CT Surgeon on staff
    • EP rotates through every 4 weeks
  • Patients admitted to one facility
  • Wide latitude of practice independence, but a strong culture of collegiality
  • Leading edge technology in 2 Cath Labs and Hybrid OR
  • General interventional cardiology with a focus on heart and legs. Structural heart, TAVRs and Watchman experienced training is necessary. Incorporate peripheral vascular interventions.
  • New visits / year are ~500 and ~1800 follow-ups.
  • New physician can expect about 50 consults. Once fully ramped expect to see 25 to 30 patents a day 2 days a week which equates to about 90 to 100 per week.
  • The STEMNI/Unreferred coverage is 1:3 - 10 days / month.
  • The incoming physician will typically spend 50 % of their time in the Cath lab, 10 % in consults and 40 % in the clinic.
  • Equipment: Toshiba/Canon & Siemens
  • 100+ Referring physicians; 150,000 Draw Area
  • Physician satisfaction/engagement in the 95th percentile nationally.
  • Willingness to work on occasions to teach Internal Medicine residents - 24 IM Residents
  • EMR: EPIC
