Job Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure and complex cardiovascular disease.
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic heart failure using evidence-based, guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT).
- Lead the development and growth of the Advanced Heart Failure program through clinical excellence, quality initiatives, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Direct heart failure readmission reduction initiatives and support continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Participate in the Heart Failure and SHOCK inpatient response teams to provide timely care for critically ill cardiac patients.
- Serve as an active member of the LVAD Committee, performing patient evaluations, workups, and providing longitudinal management for patients receiving advanced heart failure therapies.
- Oversee and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers in the outpatient Heart Failure Clinic to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care.
- Perform and interpret advanced cardiovascular diagnostic studies, including echocardiography and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
- Perform right and left heart catheterizations, based on your training and clinical interests.
- Interpret Cardiac MRI, if desired and within your scope of practice.
- Collaborate closely with Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Critical Care, and Hospital Medicine to provide comprehensive multidisciplinary cardiovascular care.
- Participate in heart failure clinical research, protocol development, and program expansion initiatives.
- Assist with the management of complex cardiovascular patients in the intensive care unit as appropriate.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
