Locum Cardiac Electrophysiologist – Oregon – Clinic & Weekend EP Call - (DM)

Position: Cardiac Electrophysiologist

Location: Oregon
Start Date: January 2027
Duration: 6 months with potential extension
Schedule: 8-Hour Clinic Shifts + Weekend EP Call
Coverage: Approximately 2 weeks per month

We are seeking a Cardiac Electrophysiologist for a locum tenens opportunity providing both outpatient EP clinic and inpatient cardiac electrophysiology coverage.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient Electrophysiology clinic coverage.
• Provide inpatient EP consultation and rounding.
• Participate in weekend EP call coverage.
• Perform inpatient pacemaker implantations.
• Perform direct-current cardioversion (DCCV).
• Manage EP-related inpatient cases.
• Round on inpatients during weekend coverage.
• Provide telephone call coverage after 5 PM.
• Collaborate with Interventional and General Cardiology teams.
• EP lab days may be available for the right candidate.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR.

Patient Population

• Primarily adult and geriatric patients.
• Typical patient volume: approximately 3–4 patients/day.
• Inpatient facility has approximately 388 beds.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• Board Certification in Cardiac Electrophysiology required.
• Active Cardiology/EP practice experience required.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• Must demonstrate active cardiology practice within the previous 24 months.
• EP case documentation required: approximately 30 EP cases within the previous 24 months.
• If requesting ablation privileges, documentation of at least 30 ablation cases within the previous year is required.
• Washington/Oregon licensing will be evaluated as applicable.
• Epic experience required.

Working Hours

Clinic:

• 8-hour shifts
• 3–4 clinic days followed by adjacent weekend call
• Weekend call approximately 1–2 times per month
• Coverage requested approximately 2 weeks per month

Weekend EP Call:

• 7:00 AM–5:00 PM: Inpatient rounding and pacemaker implantation coverage
• Approximately 5 hours of rounding during the daytime
• 5:00 PM–7:00 AM: Telephone/EP call coverage
