OnCall Solutions is seeking a locum tenens anesthesiologist for a hospital and affiliated ambulatory surgery center in the St. Louis Area. The role provides coverage while a physician retires, with ongoing coverage needs. The case mix has high orthopedic and total joint volume, and does not include cardiac, head, trauma, or obstetric cases. Providers hold privileges at both sites and float between them.
Job Responsibilities
Perform regional anesthetic and nerve blocks independently; physicians perform all blocks
Supervise CRNAs in a 1:4 anesthesia care team model
Cover eight anesthetizing rooms, averaging about 29 cases per day
Take weeknight and weekend pager call, with CRNA support
Document care in Epic
Qualifications
Board certified (ABA or AOBA)
Missouri medical license or ability to obtain one
Ability to be credentialed at both the hospital and the ambulatory surgery center
Able to commit to a minimum of two weeks per month, consistently
Agreeable to 5 x 10-hour shifts
Working Hours
Weeknight home call (pager), Monday-Friday, 5p-7a
Weekend home call (pager), Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours
Minimum two weeks per month
No backup pager
Skills
Supervision of CRNAs in a care team model
Epic EMR proficiency
Flexibility working across a hospital and an ambulatory surgery center
Clear communication with surgeons and care teams
