OnCall Solutions is looking for a locum tenens Anesthesiologist for a 260-bed community hospital in Southeastern Massachusetts. The assignment starts ASAP, and the need continues after privileging. You'll cover a broad surgical case mix in the main OR as part of a stable anesthesia team of MD anesthesiologists and CRNAs. Temporary privileges are available for candidates with a clean file.
Job Responsibilities
Manage perioperative care, including induction, maintenance, and emergence
Oversee post-anesthesia recovery and patient handoff
Take 24-hour call on weekends and some weekdays
Work with surgeons, CRNAs, and perioperative staff
Document care accurately in the EMR and follow department safety and patient care policies
Qualifications
Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
Active DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR)
Clean file and eligibility for temporary privileges (30–90 days)
Prior hospital OR experience covering a broad, multispecialty caseload
ACLS certification preferred; fellowship or specialized training preferred
Working Hours
Call: 24-hour shifts on weekends and some weekdays
Start date: on or around November 16, 2026
Assignment length: ongoing, with the need continuing after privileging
Skills
Airway management and intraoperative monitoring
Anesthesia for bariatric, spine, thoracic, and vascular patients
Meditech and Medaxion Pulse proficiency
Works well in a care team model alongside CRNAs
Adjusts quickly to a new team and clear communication with surgical staff
