Job description Two anesthesiologists needed for a long-term locum tenens opportunity in Eureka, California. Start January 1, 2027; ongoing coverage. Providers should be available approximately 1–2 weeks per month, with a minimum of 5–7 shifts monthly. Compensation is $370 per hour plus travel and lodging.

Job Responsibilities

Provide inpatient anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients. Case mix includes general, orthopedic, vascular, spine, neurological, obstetric, pediatric, regional, thoracic, trauma, neurosurgical, and pain management cases. Perform spinals, epidurals, postoperative epidural and extremity blocks, lumbar epidural steroid procedures, and central and arterial line placement. Neonatal experience is not required.

Qualifications

Board certified or truly board eligible in Anesthesiology. Active California license required. Approximately 90 days for credentialing; temporary privileges are not available.

Working Hours

Scheduled clinical shifts vary from 8–12 hours. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Includes weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call, with a 20–30-minute response time. Minimum 5–7 shifts per month; approximately 1–2 weeks monthly.
