MaineHealth Waldo Hospital, a critical access hospital in the historic seaport of Belfast, ME, needs an anesthesiologist starting ASAP. $410/hour. 7am-3:30pm, no supervision of CRNAs, you run your own cases. 14-16 surgical cases per day including endoscopy, across 3 anesthesia sites daily. No trauma. Team of 4 anesthesiologists.

Job Responsibilities

Run your own cases across general adult surgery, minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural, spinal, and regional anesthesia. Cover an active OB program (4-6 deliveries/month), can leave the hospital after initiating an epidural but must be available for callback at a 30-minute response time per ACOG guidelines. Acute pain management procedures, arterial line insertion, and management of acute volume/BP issues. Chart in Epic.

Qualifications

Board certified in Anesthesiology required. Active Maine license or IMLC LOQ highly preferred, licensing candidates will be reviewed. Covid and flu vaccination required.

Working Hours

7am-3:30pm. Weeknight call 7am-4pm, every third night, flexible. Weekend call is 24 hours, one weekend per month (1:4 rotation).

Independent general anesthesia practice, OB anesthesia and epidurals, regional blocks, acute pain management, arterial line placement.
