Job Responsibilities
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Medical management of patients under anesthesia during surgeries and procedures
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
- Oversee induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitor patients' physiological conditions and perform clinical interventions as needed
Qualifications
- M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completed residency in Anesthesia
- Board certification or fellowship required
- Currently licensed as a physician
- ECFMG and FLEX certifications
Working Hours
- 10-hour shifts
- Day shift required
- On-call duties required for weeknight and weekend coverage
Skills
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction
- Strong clinical and technical abilities in anesthesiology practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of CRNAs, with a 1:4 MD to CRNA supervision ratio
- Proficient in using the Epic charting system
