The University of Oklahoma Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join its faculty at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health. This is an opportunity to become an integral member of the only congenital heart disease surgical program in the state, while practicing within a collaborative academic environment focused on complex pediatric cardiac care.
Our pediatric cardiac anesthesia team provides perioperative care for more than 500 surgical cases annually, including ventricular assist device and heart transplant procedures. The team also staffs cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology cases and provides consultation for patients with congenital or acquired heart disease undergoing non-cardiac procedures.

About the Heart Center
The Heart Center at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital provides advanced care to infants, children, and adults with congenital heart disease and has been nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery.
More than 150 clinicians are dedicated to the care of patients with congenital heart disease across the lifespan. The program currently includes a 24-bed cardiac critical care unit, a modern hybrid suite, and two dedicated cardiac operating rooms, with continued growth anticipated.
The Heart Center is also planning a new, freestanding heart hospital adjacent to the existing Oklahoma Children’s Hospital campus, further expanding the program’s clinical capabilities and infrastructure.
Clinical Practice
Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health is part of Oklahoma’s only comprehensive academic health system and is supported by the resources of a Level I Trauma Center. This environment provides pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists with exposure to highly complex and high-acuity patients and promotes close collaboration across cardiac surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, trauma, and other pediatric subspecialties.

- Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted medical licensure in Oklahoma
- Additional training, certification, or experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia is welcomed, but not required
