Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) – Locum Tenens Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking Board Certified Anesthesiologists for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity with Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. This assignment offers a mix of independent anesthesia practice and CRNA supervision with a consistent weekday schedule and no call requirements.
Assignment Overview
- Specialty: Anesthesiology
- Location: Harrisburg, PA
- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Centers with Occasional Hospital Coverage
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Shift Length: 10 Hours
- No Call
- Coverage Need: 2–3 Weeks Per Month Minimum
Important: Candidates must be willing to cover both the ambulatory surgery centers and hospital locations. Please do not submit providers unwilling to work at the hospital sites if needed.
Practice Model
Providers will work within a care team model consisting of:
Independent Practice (Approximately 50%)
- Manage cases from pre-operative assessment through post-operative completion
- Perform anesthesia care independently
Supervisory Practice (Approximately 50%)
- Supervise CRNAs throughout the perioperative process
- Typical supervision ratio of 1:3 to 1:4 CRNAs

- Additional Ambulatory Surgical Procedures
Patient Population
- Approximately 50% Adult Patients
- Approximately 50% Pediatric Patients
Requirements
- Board Certified Anesthesiologist
- Active Pennsylvania Medical License
- Active Pennsylvania DEA
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Minimum One Year Experience
- IMLC Candidates Accepted
- Must be comfortable with both independent and supervisory practice models

Geographic Requirement
- Candidates must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Harrisburg Hospital
- Local candidates will not be considered
