Job description
A hospital in upstate New York is seeking a locum anesthesiologist for summer coverage with the potential for extension. This is a well-balanced role with a mix of bread-and-butter cases, orthopedics, and OB, within a collegial and well-supported environment. Providers must be comfortable taking call and working in both the OR and Labor & Delivery settings.
Job Responsibilities
Manage a variety of cases including orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, GI, ENT, urology, vascular, and colorectal
Perform regional anesthesia for surgical cases
Participate in call rotation, including OB coverage
Collaborate with anesthesiology team and OR staff to ensure quality patient care
Maintain timely and accurate documentation
Qualifications
Active New York license preferred
ACLS certification required
MMR vaccination required
Clean malpractice history and consistent work history (required for temp privileges)
Must be available to start in June and commit to at least 2 consecutive weeks per month
Working Hours
Call required (including OB)
Must be within 15 minutes of the facility while on call
Start: June 15, 2026
End: September 30, 2026 (extension possible)
