Job description
A high-volume health system in Pennsylvania is seeking a locum anesthesiologist to join their team at a major tertiary care facility. This is a medically directed care team model with strong CRNA support and a diverse case mix. The position offers consistent scheduling with flexibility on call depending on provider experience.
Job Responsibilities
Perform general anesthesia, MAC, and regional anesthesia (including extremity and TAP blocks)
Participate in a medically directed care team model (3:1 or 4:1 supervision ratio)
Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative patient management
Collaborate with CRNAs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania license or ability to obtain
Experience with a wide range of general cases (excluding cardiac and neonatal)
Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
Strong clinical and communication skills
Working Hours
8 or 10-hour shifts
Ongoing coverage as many weeks as available
Call is negotiable based on provider experience (12 or 24-hour shifts if applicable, with post-call day off)
Skills
Regional anesthesia (including nerve blocks and TAP blocks)
OB anesthesia
Care team supervision
Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in high-volume settings
