Job description
A well-established anesthesia team is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to provide locum tenens coverage within a collaborative surgical environment. The physician will work alongside CRNAs in a medically directed care model while supporting a variety of surgical services across multiple procedural areas including the operating room, obstetrics, cath lab, and interventional radiology.
This opportunity offers a balanced mix of personally performed cases and medical direction, allowing physicians to remain clinically engaged while supporting a strong anesthesia care team. The practice environment is efficient, collegial, and supported by modern clinical systems including a Cerner EMR platform.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise and medically direct CRNAs within a collaborative anesthesia care team model
Perform pre-operative assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage post-anesthesia recovery as needed
Participate in call coverage and support obstetric anesthesia services when scheduled
Qualifications
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
DEA certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience working in a medically directed anesthesia care team model preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary surgical environment
Working Hours
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Backup call coverage)
Weekend coverage: Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (Backup call)
