Job description
We are seeking Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Anesthesiologists for a locum tenens opportunity at multiple acute care hospitals in coastal Virginia. This assignment offers a broad adult case mix, flexible shift lengths, and a care-team model with CRNA supervision. Coverage is needed from January through June 2026, with potential for extension.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise CRNAs within a care-team model (MD:CRNA ratios up to 1:4)
Participate in weekday and/or weekend call rotation
Manage perioperative care for adult and selected pediatric patients
Perform procedures including spinals, epidurals, regionals, arterial and central line placement
Support anesthesia coverage across ORs, OB, and procedural areas (including Cath Lab)
Qualifications
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology
Active Virginia medical license (required)
DEA required
Comfortable supervising CRNAs
Experience with complex orthopedic and vascular cases preferred
Ability to take call as scheduled
Working Hours
Schedule based on department needs
Call required: weeknight and/or weekend (approximately 1:14)
Assignment dates: January 1 – June 30, 2026

Neuro cases (head and spine)
Complex vascular (non-open heart)
Complex orthopedic cases
Ventilation management
