- Start Date: January 15, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend)
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts (03:00 AM – 01:30 PM)
- Total Hours per Week: 36
- On-Call: Not required
- Charting: Paper-based system
- Anesthesia Rooms: 4
- CRNA Supervision Ratio: 4:1
- Expedited credentialing available for qualified anesthesiologists
Required Qualifications – Anesthesiologist Jobs in North Carolina
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (required)
- Completion of an approved anesthesia residency program
- Active, unrestricted North Carolina physician license (required at time of application)
- ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
- Proficient in performing nerve blocks
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist
- Experience supervising CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists)
- Clinical experience with general, pediatric, and orthopedic anesthesia cases
- Willingness to work exclusively in a supervisory role (no own cases)
Primary Responsibilities – Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist
- Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department
- Deliver comprehensive medical management for surgical and procedural patients
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain informed patient consent
- Discuss anesthesia options, risks, and benefits with patients
- Oversee induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitor patients' physiological status throughout procedures
- Perform clinical interventions as needed
- Supervise CRNAs in a 4:1 ratio
- Manage a variety of anesthesia cases, including general, pediatric, and orthopedic procedures
