Local Leadership – National Support:

At St. Joseph Hospital, we’re building something better—better care, better teamwork, and a lasting impact on the community we proudly serve. Our collaborative anesthesia model brings together anesthesiologists and CRNAs as valued partners in care. If you’re passionate about teamwork, quality, and advancing patient outcomes, we’d love to talk.

We’re seeking an experienced, team-oriented Anesthesiologist Medical Director to help lead a thriving department grounded in mutual respect and professional growth. This is not a top-down role—it’s a partnership. You’ll work side-by-side with CRNAs, hospital leaders, and the OR team to foster a culture that values everyone’s expertise.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • You’ll collaborate closely with a strong CRNA team in a 3:1–4:1 care-team model, emphasizing trust and autonomy.
  • Leadership focuses on support, inclusion, and transparency, ensuring every voice contributes to how we deliver care.
  • The department’s success is measured not only in outcomes but also in how well we support each other.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Leadership experience preferred, but a collaborative mindset and respect for the care-team model are essential.

Scheduling:

  • Flexible full-time schedule averaging 40 hours per week.
  • Call is shared equally among physicians.
  • Supportive team structure ensures coverage when colleagues are out, so you can enjoy your time off.
  • Denver offers a vibrant city life surrounded by outdoor adventure—perfect for those who value balance and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership while empowering CRNAs and anesthesiologists to work at the top of their licenses.
  • Oversee departmental operations, staffing, and scheduling with a focus on fairness and flexibility.
  • Partner with hospital and nursing leadership to uphold patient safety and quality standards.
  • Support continuing education, mentorship, and professional development for all anesthesia providers.
  • Collaborate on policies and best practices related to anesthesia care, airway management, and perioperative safety.

Living and Working in Denver:

  • CRNAs and anesthesiologists work side-by-side, supporting one another in an integrated, team-based care model.
  • We maintain excellent relationships with hospital leadership and surgical colleagues, working as one team to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
  • Our clinicians participate in committees, quality initiatives, and social events that strengthen team connection.
  • We understand the need for time outside of work—our coverage model supports true work-life balance.

Compensation:

  • $500k – $535k + Medical Director Stipend
  • W-2 or 1099 employment models available
  • $50k commencement bonus
  • 10 weeks of scheduled time off
