  • Duration: 26 weeks
  • Shift: 8-hour days (07:00 AM – 05:00 PM)
  • On-Call: Weeknight and weekend pager call required (no in-house call)
  • Overtime: Offered but not expected
  • Support: MDs supervise CRNAs (3:1 ratio); MDs also perform their own anesthesia cases
  • Case Types: General, Orthopedic, Obstetric, Pediatric anesthesia cases
  • Charting System: Cerner EMR

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology preferred)
  • Completion of approved anesthesia residency
  • Current Maryland physician license (required for Maryland anesthesiologist jobs)
  • ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of anesthesia practice experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small hospital setting

Anesthesiologist Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities within the Anesthesia Department
  • Provide medical management for patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and verify patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients
  • Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitor patients’ physiological condition throughout procedures
  • Perform clinical interventions as needed
