Anesthesiologist – Cardiothoracic
* Located in Phoenix, Arizona | Full-Time | Academic Hospital Setting*
Position Highlights
* Join the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology Division
* Appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science
* Manage comprehensive anesthetic care for coronary bypass surgery, cardiac valve surgery, aortic surgery, heart transplantation, complex thoracic and foregut surgery, robotic surgery, and a re-established lung transplant program
* Ideal candidates have experience in lung and heart transplant anesthesia
* Participate in resident education, clinical research, and program development
* Work in a collaborative environment with >50 anesthesiology consultants, 16 residents (7/year), >70 CRNAs, and a dedicated anesthesiology technologist team
Practice Environment
* Full-spectrum anesthetic care for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures (excluding trauma, obstetrics, and pediatrics)
* Pre- and post-operative patient care included
* Academic and clinical support for research and teaching
Qualifications
* MD or DO with board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology
* Completion of Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship
* Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Arizona
* Experience with lung and heart transplant anesthesia strongly preferred
