Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist – Alaska
Position: Physician – Anesthesiology (Locums)
Location: Ketchikan, AK
Dates of Coverage:
- November 29 – December 6
- December 21 – December 27
- Open dates through May 2026
Assignment Details:
- Setting: Inpatient hospital-based anesthesiology
- Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM with rotating weeknight call
- Call: Yes, 24-hour pager call
- Patient Demographics: All ages
- Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
- Average Patient Contact: 5–15 patients/day
Case Types Include:
- General OR cases
- OB department support
- Emergency Department support
- Occasional A-Line & Central Line placements
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Required (may consider BE within 3 years of training)
- Licensure: Active Alaska (AK) medical license and DEA required at submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- NRP & ATLS preferred
- EMR: EPIC – Proficiency highly preferred
Additional Information:
- Reason for Coverage: Gap in provider coverage
- FTEs Needed: 1 Full-Time Equivalent
- Credentialing Timeline: ~60 days (Temps available for clean files)
- Travel & Lodging: Fully covered by client
