We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity at a high-acuity children’s hospital in South Florida. This position is open to Florida-licensed providers who meet geographic eligibility requirements. The role starts with easier, healthy pediatric cases and can progress to more complex cases, including pediatric cardiac and cath/EP procedures for those comfortable.

Candidates must be open to working in a collaborative care team model and participate in a gradual transition to call responsibilities.

• Care team model: 1 MD : 2 CRNAs
  
  
• 50/50 medically directed supervision
  
  
• Variety of cases: General Surgery, Orthopedics, GU, ENT, Dental
  
  
• Average credentialing: 90–120 days

Job Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for pediatric patients, starting with healthier cases and expanding to more complex cases if appropriate
  
  
• Manage cases including IV placement, regional anesthesia, and, if comfortable, cardiac/cath/EP procedures
  
  
• Participate in a care team model with supervision and solo cases
  
  
• Deliver care in both medically directed and independent settings
  
  
• Transition to call responsibilities after orientation and site approval

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
  
  
• Active Florida medical license required
  
  
• Completed Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship required
  
  
• Minimum 2 years post-training experience required
  
  
• Must not have worked at this site or affiliated sites in past 24 months
  
  
• Must not have worked for Envision within past 12 months if living within 75 miles
  
  
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the site if new
  
  
• Must not reside in Broward, Palm Beach, or Miami-Dade counties

Working Hours

• Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  
  
• Optional weekend shifts: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  
  
• No call initially
  
  
• Call expected once site is comfortable with provider

Skills

• Strong pediatric anesthesia expertise
  
  
• Ability to manage high-acuity and healthy pediatric patients
