Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum tenens Anesthesiologist to provide coverage during a maternity leave from August to November 2026. The position is hospital-based and involves working in operating rooms with a collaborative anesthesia team, managing cases from neonatal to adult patients. The provider will both practice independently and supervise CRNAs within a care-team model.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Call Requirement: None
-
Practice Setting: Hospital-based operating rooms
-
Average Surgical Volume: Approximately 50–60 cases per day
Job Details & Responsibilities
-
Provide anesthesia services for surgical cases across a wide patient age range (neonatal to adult).
-
Work within a care-team model, alternating between independent practice and supervising CRNAs.

Support anesthesia care for multiple surgical specialties including thoracic, neurosurgical, and complex orthopedic procedures (excluding cardiac and transplant surgery).

Manage ventilation and intraoperative patient stability, including acute blood pressure or volume issues.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary OR team including RNs, surgical technologists, surgeons, APPs, and procedural staff.

Work within a high-volume surgical environment at an ACS Level 1 Trauma Center with:

14 operating rooms
-
22 anesthesiologists on staff

Annual ER volume of approximately 70,000 visits

Required Skills & Qualifications
Clinical & Certification Requirements
-
Board Certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Ability to perform procedures including:
-
General surgical anesthesia (neonatal, pediatric, and adult cases)

Thoracic surgery (excluding open heart)
-
Complex orthopedic procedures
-
Neurosurgical cases
-
Ventilation management
-
-
Preferred skills include:
-
Arterial line placement
-
Management of acute blood pressure and volume changes

Licensing & Documentation
-
Active Ohio medical license (highly preferred).

NPDB self-query completed within 30 days of submission.
