Job description
We are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) with cardiovascular anesthesia experience for an ongoing locum opportunity in Florida. This position offers a mix of scheduled shifts and call coverage at a Level II Trauma Center, with physicians covering both cardiac and general anesthesia cases. Candidates offering strong weekday and weekend call availability will receive priority consideration.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday coverage
- 8- and 10-hour shift options
- 14-hour weekday call
- 24-hour weekend call
- Call coverage includes both cardiac and general cases
- Flexible availability highly valued
Practice Setting
- Hospital-based anesthesia
- Level II Trauma Center
- Cardiovascular and general anesthesia cases
- Collaborative anesthesia care environment
- CV CRNA and backup CRNA support available during call coverage
Clinical Requirements
- Cardiovascular anesthesia experience required
- General-only Anesthesiologists will not be considered
- Must be comfortable covering both cardiac and general cases while on call
- Must be familiar and comfortable with TEE
- Formal TEE certification is not required
- 24 months of case logs required
Licensure & Certifications
- Board Eligible required
- Florida medical license required
- Florida DEA required
- Active AHA BLS required
- Active ACLS required
- Active PALS required
- Current TB testing required
- Priority may be given to physicians who already hold active Florida licensure
Call Coverage
- Physicians willing to provide call coverage will be prioritized
- 14-hour weekday call
- 24-hour weekend call
- Physician covers the house, including both cardiac and general anesthesia
- CV CRNA and backup CRNA support available on call
Credentialing
- Current credentialing timeframe is approximately 90–120 days after submission of a complete application
- Temporary privileges may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Payer enrollment must be completed prior to credentialing
- Timely completion of credentialing documents may improve the opportunity for an earlier start
Travel & Location Requirements
- Candidates must reside more than 60 minutes from the facility
- Candidates residing within the 60-minute radius are not eligible
