Job description
A Level II Trauma Center in the Florida Panhandle is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD) for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This role offers a structured weekday schedule, call opportunities, and a diverse surgical case mix within a collaborative hospital environment.
⚠️ Important: Due to facility requirements, clinicians must reside greater than 60 minutes from the site location. Local candidates within 60 minutes are not eligible.

Priority given to providers with an active Florida license and DEA

Providers available to assist with call coverage are prioritized
Schedule
-
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Mon–Fri) – Day coverage

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Mon–Fri) – Late coverage
-
5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Mon–Fri) – Overnight call
-
Weekend Call: Saturday–Sunday (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Clinical Responsibilities
-
Provide anesthesia for cardiac and complex surgical procedures
-
Perform and interpret Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

Work across a broad surgical case mix, including:

Cardiac and thoracic
-
Major vascular
-
General surgery
-
Orthopedics
-
Neurosurgery
-
Trauma
-
GI procedures
-
Outpatient surgery
-
Additional specialties including ENT, urology, plastics, podiatry, and spine

Requirements
-
Board Certified Cardiac Anesthesiologist (MD)
-
TEE experience required
-
Active Florida license and DEA
-
ACLS, PALS, and BLS (AHA) required
-
Current TB test required
-
24 months of case logs required for credentialing
