Cardiac Anesthesiologist Opportunity – Florida

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiac Anesthesiologist for a cardiac-focused opportunity at a mid-sized acute care hospital in Florida. This is a high-acuity position within a well-established, collaborative care team model.

📅 Schedule Requirements

Vacation coverage - candidates must be available for:

• One week of coverage: 7/20 – 7/24
• Weekend call: Either 7/18 – 7/19 OR 7/25 – 7/26

Current full-time model:

• Weekday and weekend call included
• Weekend call is Friday–Sunday (from home or hotel; must be within 30 minutes of hospital)

Practice Setting

• Mid-sized acute care facility
• Care team model
• Cardiac cases performed both solo and within care team model
• Weekend coverage is MD-only

Care Team Composition

• 12 MDs
• 26 CRNAs

Average Monthly Cardiac Volume

• 25–30 cases requiring cardiac anesthesia with TEE examination

🫀 Case Mix

Cardiac Cases Include:

• CABG
• Valve replacement
• Aortic surgery
• Advanced EP ablations
• Watchman procedures

Majority Case Types:

• Cardiac
• General Surgery
• Orthopedics
• GI
• Robotics

🔧 Required Skills & Procedures

• TEE capability required
• Arterial line placement (A-line)
• Central venous catheter (CVC)
• Pulmonary artery catheter (PAC)
• Regional anesthesia

Credentialing Timeline:

• Estimated 60–90 days

📜 Certification & Licensure Requirements

• Board Certified
• Completed Cardiac Fellowship
• TEE Certification
• Board Certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• Active Florida Medical License
• Active DEA prior to presentation
