Locum Tenens Opportunity – Cardiac Anesthesiologist
📍 Mason City, Iowa
🕐 8–12 Week Assignment | Start ASAP
Join a rapidly growing Cardiac Surgery Program at a respected Trauma Level II hospital in Mason City, IA. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Anesthesiologist to contribute to a high-impact, evolving program with a newly stabilized cardiac team.
🏥 Position Highlights:

Setting: Hospital-based (occasional ASC coverage if needed)

Cardiac Surgeries: Avg. 1 per day (not daily); ~90 open heart cases projected annually

Other Cases: 5–7 general surgical cases/day (required when no cardiac cases)

Operating Rooms: 8 ORs running concurrently

EMR: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC) + some paper charting

Staff Model: Solo practice with CRNA students occasionally rotating in OR
🔍 Candidate Requirements:

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (Cardiac BC preferred)

Active Iowa license or IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)

TEE Certified – Must independently read, interpret & bill for TEE procedures

Cardiac Fellowship Preferred or extensive cardiac experience with TEE competency

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

COVID Vaccinated – Required
