About the Facility
The Hospital is a specialized inpatient addiction treatment facility dedicated to helping individuals recover from alcohol and substance use disorders. It is not an acute care hospital, but a comprehensive behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment center.
The facility is licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and operates:
- Part 816: Medically Supervised Inpatient Detoxification Program
- Part 818: Inpatient Rehabilitation Program
Patients receive 24/7 medical supervision during detoxification, followed by comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and long-term recovery planning.
Patient Population
The program primarily treats patients with:
- Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)
- Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)
- Other Substance Use Disorders (SUD)

Role Overview
This is a unique opportunity that combines clinical practice with medical leadership.
As the Medical Director, you will:
- Oversee all medical services for the inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation programs.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
- Supervise physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
- Develop and update clinical policies and medical protocols.
- Ensure compliance with New York OASAS regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatry, nursing, counseling, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and support best clinical practices.
Clinical Responsibilities
The position includes:
- Managing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Overseeing detoxification protocols
- Performing medical evaluations
- Reviewing laboratory findings
- Addressing complex medical issues
- Coordinating care with psychiatric and behavioral health providers
Leadership Responsibilities
The Medical Director will also:
- Supervise physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
- Lead case conferences and multidisciplinary discussions
- Provide clinical guidance and staff education
- Oversee regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement medical policies and procedures
