Obesity Medicine Physician opening in South Dakota
Full-Time Opportunity
Rapid City, SD
Join an established and growing comprehensive obesity medicine and bariatric program focused on delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary care. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team while helping patients navigate both medical and surgical weight management pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive obesity medicine care, including evaluation and treatment of metabolic conditions
* Manage patients through both non-surgical and surgical weight loss pathways
* Develop individualized treatment plans, including lifestyle, pharmacologic, and procedural options
* Collaborate closely with bariatric surgery, psychiatry, dietitians, and APPs
* Participate in ongoing program development and quality initiatives
* Support long-term patient follow-up and outcomes management
Practice Environment
* Accredited bariatric and metabolic program with plans for additional certification
* Multidisciplinary team including:
* Board-certified obesity medicine physician
* Fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon
* Bariatric psychiatrist
* Registered dietitians
* Advanced practice providers and nursing staff
* Regional tertiary care hospital (400+ beds, Level II Trauma Center)
* Service area spanning multiple states
Qualifications
* Board Certified or Board Eligible physician
* Certification in Obesity Medicine or completion of an Obesity Medicine fellowship (or eligibility to sit for boards)
* Eligible for medical licensure in South Dakota
* Strong interest in multidisciplinary, patient-centered care
