Position Overview

A leading academic acute care hospital in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced NP/PA to join its Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team on a locum tenens basis. This is an inpatient-focused position providing comprehensive patient care in a hospital setting alongside a multidisciplinary surgical team.

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Typical hours: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
• Generally, Wednesday–Friday, with flexibility to cover Monday and Tuesday as needed
• No weekends
• No holidays
• No night shifts

Practice Details:

• Inpatient Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service
• Hospital-based practice setting
• Average daily patient census: approximately 10 patients
• Adult patient population
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic

Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive inpatient care and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support patient treatment and recovery. Responsibilities include:

• Performing history and physical examinations
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Prescribing medications and managing treatment plans
• Performing bedside procedures as appropriate
• Assessing and managing therapeutic interventions
• Developing and implementing patient care plans
• Monitoring patient progress and conducting ongoing evaluations
• Coordinating care with surgical, nursing, and ancillary staff

Requirements:

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Minimum 1–2 years of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery experience
