Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant opening in Hartford, CT Full-Time | OR First Assist | Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting | Weekday Schedule with Call A busy Cardiac Surgery program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a Physician Assistant to support cardiovascular surgical procedures, perioperative care, and patient education. Opportunity Highlights:

  • Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant role
  • Join a busy and growing cardiac surgery department
  • Work under the direction of cardiothoracic surgeons
  • First assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Perform endoscopic vessel harvesting
  • Support preoperative history and physical examinations
  • Provide postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting
  • Educate patients regarding surgical care and recovery
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • Periodic weekday and weekend call required
  • Major teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center setting

  • Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program
  • Connecticut Physician Assistant license, or eligibility
  • Certification or eligibility as a Physician Assistant
  • 2+ years of cardiovascular surgery experience preferred
  • Strong new graduates may be considered
  • First-assist experience preferred
  • Endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred
  • Strong surgical interest, clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
