Physician Assistant – Trauma & Acute Care Surgery

Location: Loveland, Colorado
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Assistant to join a Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team in Loveland, Colorado. This is an exciting opportunity to provide full-spectrum trauma and acute care surgical services while working collaboratively with an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Position Overview

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services during overnight shifts. The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing with a high level of autonomy, managing complex clinical situations, and balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum trauma and acute care surgical services during overnight shifts.
  • Manage trauma admissions, emergency general surgery patients, and inpatient care.
  • Perform patient evaluations and develop appropriate treatment and care plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and incorporate findings into patient management.
  • Assist trauma surgeons with procedures, resuscitations, and operative support.
  • Participate in trauma and emergency general surgery consultations.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, APPs, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Practice autonomously while appropriately managing multiple complex clinical responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
  • Support quality, patient safety, and performance initiatives within the Trauma Surgery service.
  • Participate in professional development and potential leadership opportunities through UCHealth OAP.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $136,822–$179,379, based on experience
  • Opportunity to earn up to $10,000 annually through the Quality Value Incentive Plan (QVIP)
  • Relocation assistance up to $10,000 for eligible candidates
  • Fully paid malpractice coverage
