What You’ll Do
- Support the cardiac surgery team in high-acuity stepdown care, including post-operative management of complex cardiac patients
- Perform procedures such as removal of chest tubes and pacing wires
- Manage pre- and post-operative assessments, discharge planning, and clinical documentation using EPIC and Sectra systems
- Monitor vital signs, electrolyte levels, and signs of infections or clinical deterioration
- Collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans
- Assist with wound care, surgical drain management, and patient education
- Coordinate patient care transitions and facilitate timely recoveries
What You Need
- Valid Missouri State License and certification in BLS and ACLS
- 2+ years of cardiac surgery or trauma Level I experience
- Proficiency in managing CABG, valve surgeries, aortic procedures, and arrhythmias
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism and teamwork

This opportunity involves supporting a high-acuity cardiac surgery stepdown unit, providing comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, and aortic surgeries.
