Guthrie Lourdes is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Guthrie Binghamton General Surgery Practice,
As a Guthrie Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant working in General Surgery, you play an integral role in assisting with the care of our surgical patients while acting as a patient advocate and collaborating with the Practice physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as Guthrie Specialists throughout the strong Guthrie Referral Network.
Highlights of the Opportunity
- Conduct initial and follow-up patient assessments in the Practice
- Provide high-quality inpatient care to post-operative and acutely ill surgical patients
- Act as a surgical first assist in the OR
- Cover call equally with other General Surgery APPs
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and treatments, and order and interpret diagnostic tests as directed by supervising surgeon
- Providing patient education and counseling
Candidate Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant New York State license
- Master's degree in nursing and completion of an accredited RNFA program, meeting specific certification requirements set forth by the National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC). OR a master’s degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary range starting at $125,000- $140,000 depending on experience.
