Job description
Join a dynamic trauma surgery team at a Level II Trauma Center in Lima, OH covering a full-time PA on medical leave. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PAs with a trauma surgery background looking for consistent inpatient responsibilities without the pressure of autonomous practice.
📍 Location: Lima, OH
📅 Assignment Length: 12 weeks or possibility to extend till the end of the year!
🕒 Schedule: Inpatient rounding, consults, ED response, discharges
🏥 Trauma Level: Level II (Adult)
👨⚕️ Supervision: Trauma Attending Surgeon assigned to each 24-hour shift (on-call, reachable within 15 mins)
🔍 Key Responsibilities

Respond to ED Trauma Alerts

Perform FAST exams
-
Conduct surgical consults & ER admissions

Assist with house codes and rapid response team

Facilitate discharges and complete handoffs

Minor procedures including suturing lacerations

General surgery coverage 5p–7a weekdays and 24h on weekends
📋 EMR: Epic
📈 Patient Volume: 6–12 per day
🙌 Collaborative Environment: You’ll work under direct supervision and support of a dedicated trauma attending
Requirements:

NCCPA Board Certified – Required

Active OH License & DEA – Required

BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS – Required

Trauma Surgery Experience – Required; no new grads accepted
