Seeking an experienced Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) for cardiovascular surgery first assist locum coverage. Providers without an Illinois license are welcome to apply; we can assist with licensing. An active Illinois license is required before starting.

Assignment Details

• Location: Urbana, Illinois

• Additional privileges: A second facility in Normal, Illinois

• Position type: Locum contract

• Openings: One

• Start date and duration: TBD

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

• Call: Possible weeknight and 24-hour weekend call; TBD and not guaranteed

• Pay: Negotiable/TBD

Clinical Responsibilities

• Cardiovascular surgical first assisting

• Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)

• Perioperative patient care

• Inpatient rounding

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with NCCPA certification

• Active Illinois license before starting

• Current AHA ACLS certification

• Experience in surgical first assisting, EVH, perioperative care and inpatient rounding

• Strong operating room expertise; multiple years of OR experience preferred

• ECMO experience preferred

• Availability to meet the assignment’s coverage needs

Credentialing Requirements

• Professional references

• Vaccination records

• Negative drug screening

• Completed physical within 90 days of the start date, per the health attestation requirements

• Clean credentialing history strongly preferred
