Locums – Fond du Lac, Wisconsin | NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity

Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locums Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. This role requires strong cardiac surgery experience, including first-assist experience in the CVOR, and involves both perioperative and procedural responsibilities. Candidates must already hold an active Wisconsin license, as the organization is not willing to license.

Assignment Details

• Start date: December 15, 2026

• Assignment duration: 13 weeks

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Potential call rotation

• Adult patient population

• Patient volume varies

• Cardiothoracic Surgery department

Position Highlights

• NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity

• Work alongside surgeons, PA-Cs, and RNs

• First-assist CVOR experience required

• Broad procedural responsibilities

• Robotic lung experience is a plus, but not required

• 60-day credentialing timeframe

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patients

• Formulate diagnoses

• Develop treatment plans

• Perform technical, clinical, and surgical procedures

• Document patient progress and surgical care

• Assist with perioperative and postoperative Cardiothoracic Surgery care

• Provide first-assist support in the CVOR

Procedures & Skills

• Endoscopic saphenous vein harvests

• Radial artery harvests

• Chest tube placement and removal

• Catheter placement and removal

• Central line placement and removal

• Arterial line placement and removal

• Intubation and extubation

• Robotic lung surgery experience preferred, but not required

Support & Technology

• Surgeons

• PA-Cs

• Registered Nurses

• EMR: Epic

• Robotic surgical equipment available

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Board Certified required

• Active Wisconsin license required

• Organization is not willing to license

• BLS required

• ACLS required

• CSR required

• DEA required

• 1–2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required

• Minimum 1 year of first-assist experience in the CVOR specific to cardiac surgery required

• Must have first-assist experience

Credentialing

• Approximately 60 days

• Active Wisconsin license must already be in hand

• Cardiothoracic Surgery department

• Combination of clinical, procedural, operative, and postoperative responsibilities
