Job description
We are seeking a locums, experienced physician assistant (PA) to join our growing cardiothoracic surgery service line. We can consider full-time or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off depending on our current need.
Position Responsibilities:
Current licensure with the state of New York as a physician assistant (PA).
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care. Counsel patients about concerns under the direction of the supervising physician(s).
- Round on patients admitted to the hospital; review care plans with nursing staff as established by our physicians.
- Assist in the operating room. Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required.
- Perform physical assessments on patients and complete patient histories.
- Complete discharge summaries.
- Order medications, treatments, labs, etc.
- Be available for call about patient conditions according to the pre-established schedule. Includes holiday responsibilities.
Education and Skills Required:
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).Current licensure with the state of New York as a physician assistant (PA).

Qualifications
Vein Harvesting
BLS, ACLS required
NCCPA certified
Active NY state PA license
Working Hours
5 days/week, 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week
